Car Tax was £1 per horsepower
so the Morris Ten would have cost £10-00 to tax.

A pint of beer was 1s-4d

Brooke Bond Divident tea was 1s-7d for 1/2 lb.
Cigarettes cost 1s-2d for 10 Craven Plain
Biro Pen - 55 shillings (£2-15s) Today = £2.75 -
so a Biro would have cost almost 2 days wages in 1946.
The Times newspaper cost 3d
Also 3d to post a letter
Remember much of the food and petrol was still rationed in 1946
